From Bathroom Mock-Up to Bulk Order: A Solid Surface Basin Approval Workflow

The mock-up is valuable only when its lessons are documented and transferred into the production order.

From Bathroom Mock-Up to Bulk Order: A Solid Surface Basin Approval Workflow

A completed sample room creates confidence, but it can also create a false sense that the work is finished. The basin used in the mock-up may have been adjusted on site, the tap may differ from the tender, or the installer may have solved a clearance problem without telling procurement. Before bulk release, turn those lessons into controlled documents.

Install the intended combination

Use the proposed basin, cabinet, tap, drain, mirror, accessories, wall finish, supports, and sealant detail. A substitute component can hide the interface that needs approval.

If a temporary part is unavoidable, mark it in the inspection record and schedule a separate compatibility check.

Invite the people who own the interfaces

Include design, purchasing, contractor, cabinet maker, plumber, operations or housekeeping, and client representatives as appropriate. Each sees a different risk.

Collect comments against specific items. General statements such as looks good are difficult to turn into production instructions.

Observe installation, not only the result

Record handling route, unpacking, fixing access, leveling, plumbing connections, sealant joints, and time-consuming adjustments. Photograph concealed conditions before they are closed.

An attractive finished room can hide a process that is too fragile or slow for hundreds of repetitions.

Convert comments into revisions

Update drawings, schedules, bills of quantities, packing instructions, and installation notes. List every change from the mock-up unit and assign an owner.

Do not release bulk production against marked-up photos while the purchase order still references an earlier drawing.

Approve a clear production baseline

Identify the final drawing revision, sample status, finish reference, hardware scope, packing method, labels, inspection plan, and quantity by phase.

The approved mock-up may remain installed, so create enough records for factory and site teams to understand what it represents.

Carry lessons into rollout

Brief installation teams and inspect early rooms in the first bulk phase. Confirm that packaging, room allocation, and site conditions match the approved plan.

Use QINGDA project supply to coordinate model lists and shipment phases after the mock-up decisions are frozen.

Send the mock-up drawing, inspection notes, accepted changes, model quantities, packing rules, and rollout programme before releasing the bulk order.
